ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS AND HONORS RECEIVED BY HARVEST   CHRISTIAN SCHOOL INTERNATIONAL (HCSI),  CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES


1. BEST ENTERPISING AWARD, INTERNATIONAL YOUTH FORUM ON GLOBAL WARMING, Hwa Chong International School, Singapore, November 21-23, 2007, Singapore

2. OVERALL GRAND CHAMPION, HOME RADIO IQ CHALLENGE, JANUARY 2002. The school received a Presidential Trophy from no less than the Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for achieving the Overall Championship plus cash awards from Home Radio. The competition/elimination lasted for 6 months and was participated by different schools in Cebu City and Cebu Province. Awarding ceremony was held in Ayala Entertainment Center, Cebu City, January 2002.

3. TOP TEN (10) MOST OUTSTANDING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OF CEBU, APRIL 2000 participated by more than 200 students all over Cebu belonging to top 10% of the graduating high school class of different schools in Cebu (around 200 schools) - Sponsored by the Dept. of Education, Kiwanis Club and Rhine Marketing Corporation. Awarding was held in Montebello Villa Hotel, Cebu City, April 2000 – Participant: Miss Bliss Roselle Guinarez, 4th Year High School.

4. FIRST PLACE, MONTHLY FINALS, HOME RADIO IQ CHALLENGE,
September 2002 - sponsored by Home Radio, SM Entertainment Center

5. SECOND PLACE, CHOIR COMPETITION, CHRISTIAN MUSIC FESTIVAL, February 2006, SM City - sponsored by the Association of Christian Schools of Cebu (ACSC)
 
6. SEVENTH PLACE, NATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT TEST (NAT), CEBU CITY WIDE, Conducted by Department of Education (DepEd), Region VII for GRADE 6 students, January 2010
 
7. THIRD PLACE, 2ND BTC SPELLING CHALLENGE (HIGH SCHOOL CATEGORY, held at Banilad Town Centre, February 12, 2011.

12. INVITED BY THE CONGRESSIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL (CYLC), WASHINGTON D.C. to represent the Philippines in the Global Young Leaders Conference to be held in Washington D.C. and New York. The CYLC is an organization duly recognized by the WHITE HOUSE no less than the US President George Bush, November 2002.

OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS:

1. First Place, METROBANK MTAP-DepEd MATH CHALLENGE, Division Level by Jon Vincent Marcojos
(product of HCSI from Grade 1 to Grade 6, now in Mandaue Science High), last February 14, 2009 where mostly, all answers were to be mentally computed and orally given by the contestants,  selected students from more than 20 public & private schools joined the elimination written math exam and only 8 schools qualified, where mandaue science high got the 2nd highest score. Jon and another rep from their school represented their school last Feb 14, 2009 for the final round and garnered the highest score where the second placer was 14 points away from them.

2. Graduated Magna Cum Laude, BEED, Cebu Normal University, March 2006 – Miss Stephanie Lynn Conde, High School Alumna, Class 2000-2001, Harvest Christian School International (HCSI).
 
3. First Runner Up or Second Place, 4th Visayas Universities Debate Championship by Miss Gia Monica S. Macion, HCSI High School Alumna, Class 2008 held last February 10-13, 2011, Iloilo City, Philippines
 
4. Graduated Cum Laude, Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting, University of San Carlos (USC), March 2011 - Miss Deborah T. Cabrera, High School Alumna, Class 2008.

HONORS RECEIVED FOR THE SCHOOL:

1. MR. ARTURO N. TANGAL, CPA, Director of Harvest Christian School International (HCSI) for being elected as the President of CEBU CITY PRIVATE SCHOOLS ADMINISTRATORS’ ASSOCIATION, INC. (CCPSAA), an association of private schools of Cebu City (with around 160+ member schools) duly recognized by Dep Ed for 3 consecutive years (2008-2010) and re-elected for another 3-year term, 2011-1013.
